We build for specialist dealers and workshops across the UK. Work is remote and dealer-facing — there is no public showroom or workshop HQ to visit. Catalogues start with mini crawler cranes; other machine families are available by quotation.
Mark Devaynes — founder
Mark is an electrical and mechanical engineer. Fault finding is his craft: diagnosing machines in the bay, then turning that practice into software other technicians can use. He builds Trace in the evenings and weekends alongside his day role at a UK mini crawler crane dealer.
Mark is a British Armed Forces veteran. That experience shapes how Trace is built — clear procedure, tools that hold up under pressure, and software meant for people who fix machines for a living — not a hollow footer badge.
Commercial boundary
Mark’s day job is at a UK mini crawler crane dealer. Trace does not use his employer’s data or customer lists. Catalogues and fault knowledge are built from each customer’s own books and records. Working with one dealer first does not mean exclusivity.
What we build
Catalogue levels — Parts Search, Parts Catalogue look-up and 3D Catalogue — plus the Fault Assistant add-on (Private AI Fault Finding Assistant: private local AI for logged faults and manuals, on your hardware). We start with specialist workshops and mini crawler cranes; other machine families are available by quotation.
